“You are a great host.” – Laura Whelan, Marriott
Marshall Chiles considers himself very fortunate enough to be able to travel all over the world doing stand-up comedy. His career philosophy is that he worships the comedy goddess and therefore he does whatever is best for comedy. Marshall recently found out that the Greek comedy goddess is named Athena, so it turns out all these years he has been worshiping a big black woman.
Marshall’s comedy is based on being love, being peace and being funny. He loves to make people laugh, especially people he would normally never even talk to off stage. When he is able to take a serious subject and make it funny enough that everyone laughs, then he knows that he has probably stolen someone else’s joke and needs to send them a check.
He started stand-up comedy at the beginning of 2001. Since that cold winter night, he has begun to find out who he really is and what his core genius is… and that core genius seems to be a recovering dickhead battling several addictions. So with that in mind, he has been trying to improve his self-consciousness with all that he does.
In the summer of 2002, Marshall took over running The Funny Farm Comedy Club just outside Atlanta, GA and has built it to be one of the best comedy clubs in the country. Having his own stage to experiment and grow has helped built himself and his comedy.
Marshall is very excited to be able to perform his “Laughing at Addiction” comedy tour which is based on helping find the funny in recovery. If you know about addiction, then you know it is no joke… until you hear about it from Marshall Chiles.
