“…the best feature act I’ve seen in years.” -Dan Mer, Tempe Improv

Marshall Chiles is one of the most unique comedians you will ever see. No two shows are the same because he never knows exactly what he will do for a show: sometimes he will do his well-tested jokes, sometimes he does “stream of consciousness comedy,” and other times he will do crowd work… or there will be a mixture of all three. He considers himself very fortunate enough to be able to travel all over the world performing stand-up and sometimes making people laugh. His career philosophy is that he worships the comedy goddess and therefore he does whatever is best for comedy. Marshall recently found out that the Greek comedy goddess is named Athena, so it turns out all these years he has been worshiping a big black woman.Marshall’s comedy is based on being love, being peace and being funny. He loves to make people laugh, especially people he would normally never even talk to off stage. When he is able to take a serious subject and make it funny enough that everyone laughs, then he knows that he has probably stolen someone else’s joke and needs to send them a check.

He started stand-up comedy at the beginning of 2001. Since that cold winter night, he has begun to find out who he really is and what his core genius is… and that core genius seems to be a recovering dickhead battling several addictions.

In the summer of 2002, Marshall took over running The Funny Farm Comedy Club just outside Atlanta, GA and he has built it to be one of the best comedy clubs in the country. Having his own stage to experiment has helped him grow as a comedian and person.

He is also the host and head writer for “The National Lampoon Pop Culture Minute (or So).” This project is a daily radio vignette played on 20 radio stations across the country every morning. You can read and hear these daily jokes on the blog page of this website.
